Heba Hashem is a bilingual freelance journalist registered at the Dubai Media City. Her seven-year career began in the publishing industry, writing for Gmag; a popular monthly city guide.
She then turned to Public Relations for two years, when she joined Shuttle Advertising as PR Manager, followed by Meydan as PR Associate, supporting their in-house agency (formul8) with the lead-up to Dubai World Cup.
During her PR journey, she also provided freelance Arabic PR support to Shangri-La Maldives and Tourism Ireland, through their official GCC representatives- Gulf Reps.
Since 2007, Heba immersed herself into the world of journalism, writing for numerous regional and international publications.
To date she has covered diverse topics, ranging from travel, solar energy, nuclear power, smart grid, aviation and retail, to general news, and interviews with celebrities and industry leaders.
Her published work has appeared in Oryx Qatar Airways, Portfolio Emirates Airlines, CSP Today, CPV Today, Thin Film Today, Nuclear Energy Insider, Smart Grid Update, Global Citizen, Kanoo World Traveller, Vertu Select, Travart, The International Indian, amongst others.

In 2008, Heba had the privilege of joining IRIN (the United Nation's office for the coordination of human affairs) as a Media Intern. The 3-month internship exposed her to invaluable knowledge on corresponding with stringers and how humanitarian news is compiled.
Heba holds a B.A. in Communications & Media Studies from Middlesex University and a B.A. in English-Arabic translation from Cairo University. She is a member of The Chartered Institute of Journalists UK since 2009.
